Dr Jockers Comments:

Depression and mood disorders are a common day epidemic that is reaching massive proportions.  Anti-depressants are now the number 2 prescribed medication in the USA.  Nutrition plays an enormous role in the function of the brain and the regulation of mood.  In fact, research has shown that healthy lifestyle activities are three times more effective than anti-depressants for helping people cope with and overcome bouts of depression.

The most important nutrients for healthy mood regulation include saturated fat, omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin B12 among others.  The 100% green-fed beef supplies all of these nutrients with high levels of long chain omega 3 fatty acids, B12 and the antioxidants carnosine, retinal and vitamin E.

The Italian herbs provide amazing flavor and more key antioxidants.  This recipe will boost your mood because it tastes amazing and it is loaded with the critical nutrition your brain needs to de-inflame, build healthy neurons and function optimally.

I recommend using grass-fed and grass-finished beef for the highest quality meat. If you have trouble finding these at your local grocery store or health food store, then you can order virtually any type of meat and various cuts through Slankers and they will deliver right to your door.

  1. Awesome meatballs, just like my families recipe with added cheese to them before cooking. I baked them at a high heat and then after cooled a bit transferred them into the (my organic canned tomatoes) tomato sauce. The sauce I added organic garlic, onion, basil, oregano, parsley and cheese. Simmered for a few hours. Grandchildren coming so I made one of their favorite meals today.

  2. Best meatballs I have ever made! My family loved them. The only thing I did different was cook them in sauce. Thanks for sharing.
