I use to eat coconut on a regular basis until it was pointed out to me how the oil solidifies after cooling. So therefore it would also solidify in our bodies and be harder to pass through our system. Please explain how this would be healthy.
Mechelle – coconut oil does not solidify in our body. We metabolize it and produce small and medium chain fatty acids that are used for energy.
Michele, coconut oil does solidify below, I believe, 72 degrees F. Perhaps that solid coconut oil is what this person was thinking about. Our internal boby temp is much warmer than that. So there is no way for it to solidify IN our bodies.
Populations who have coconut as their main source of fat are some of the healthiest…until they started eating a western diet.
Experiment: Take a teaspoon or more of solidified coconut oil. Even before you do, put it in the fridge to be sure it’s nice and hard. Then place it in your mouth. Don’t chew, just feel how quickly it melts. Even after it melts hold it in your mouth…does it re-solidify? No, it can’t.
I have introduced coconut oil plus coconut milk into my diet. I too suffer from chronic fatique….Am I on track….I did hear David Jocjers state that coconut water…kafir is very good too.
Yes these are great action steps Marushia!
