Crunchy Garlic Keto Chips
This is a modified recipe from my friend Megan Kelly. She has an incredible blog and is a Licensed Esthetician specializing in holistic nutrition, woman’s hormones, and spiritual health.
Crunchy Garlic Keto Chips Ingredients
1 1/4 cups of sprouted chia and flax powder
2 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of onion powder
3 tsps of nutritional yeast
½ cup of filtered water
Crunchy Garlic Keto Chips Instructions
Step #1: In a bowl mix the sprouted chia and flax powder and seasonings
Step #2: Add filtered water and mix well till combined with a spatula
Step #3: Allow the dough sit for 10 minutes
Step #4: Preheat the oven to 400°
Step #5: Place the dough between 2 parchment papers and roll it flat with a rolling pin as thin as you like.
Step #6: Place the rolled dough with parchment paper onto a baking sheet. You want to roll these real thin and use a pizza cutter to cut into whatever size pieces you would like. If these are thicker, they are still good but are more like crackers.
Step #7: Bake this 10-15 minutes and depending on how thick you made them, keep checking after 10 minutes to get to the desired level of consistency.
Step #8: Once crackers are baked, it is a really good idea to turn off the oven, remove and break the crackers then put the crackers on the baking tray and put them back into the oven for another 10 minutes. Keep the oven door slightly opened so they get crispy but not burned.
Feel free to flavor these crackers in any way you would like. Garlic/onion such as this recipe is a very popular one and well-liked. You could also try adding in basil, oregano and other aromatic herbs that bring flavor and anti-oxidants.
Remember to roll these very thin as they will cook faster and be more like chips as opposed to crackers. These will burn easily so that is why it is important to keep checking them after 10 minutes in the oven.
Dr Jockers Comments
Sprouted seeds are always the best to use if possible. The sprouting process reduces the anti-nutrient content and activates enzymes and other bioactive nutrients within the seeds. Organic traditions is a sprouted flax and chia seed powder you can purchase, which makes this recipe much easier than if you were to try to do this at home yourself.
