natural ant repellent

Natural Ant Repellent Ingredients:

1 glass spray bottle (I used this 1oz bottle here)

15-20 drops of peppermint essential oil

Water (to fill bottle)

Natural Ant Repellent Directions:

Step #1:  Fill glass spray bottle with 15-20 drops of peppermint essential oil, (depending on how much of an ant problem you are battling).

Step #2:  Fill remainder of glass spray bottle with water. Screw on lid, and spray over problem areas.

Angel’s Comments:

This simple recipe works! Our home had a major ant problem for about a week, and then we finally decided to put our essential oils to the test! A little research and a little bit of experimentation led us to this safe and effective ant repellent!

It’s so safe that we could even spray it near or even on our fruit stand! Peppermint oil is safe for human consumption, and it even fights germs and has wonderful health benefits. (See my article I wrote a while back on some of the other top 7 benefits of Peppermint essential oils HERE.)

You can concentrate the peppermint oil if the ants are really bad and do 15-20 oz in a 1oz bottle with water.  Or you can have it slightly more diluted and do up to 4oz of water with 20-25 drops of peppermint essential oil.

Ants can be pesky so be sure to spray all around their home as well as in the little hole that they go in and out of.  The good news is that the peppermint essential oil is actually very nourishing for the ground unlike the toxic ant repellent sprays that most people are using.
