Chocolate Strawberry Mousee

Prep

Total

Yield 2 Servings

Ingredients:

1 Avocado

1/3 bag of frozen organic strawberries

2 tsps of coconut oil

1 cup of Toasted Coconut Milk (combination of almond milk and coconut cream) – you can also use organic unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk in a carton.

1 scoop Bone Broth Power Protein Chocolate (or another chocolate protein powder you choose to use)

3 tbsps. of Raw Cacao Powder

Stevia to taste

Optional:

1 tsp of Turmeric

Pinch of Pink salt and black pepper

Top with coconut flakes and cacao nibs

Instructions:

Step #1:  Gather all the ingredients

Step #2:  Put everything into the blender and blend on high speed until whipped and creamy.

Be sure to check the sides of the blender for protein powder or raw cacao powder. I use a spoon and scrape the sides so that all the powder mixes into the mousse.

Dr Jockers Comments:

This is a great tasting recipe you and your family will love!  The strawberries provide a bit too many carbs for it to be a keto recipe, but if you are actively working out your body will burn those up quickly!

Chocolate mousse is one of my favorite lunches because chocolate gives me a healthy level of stimulation and drives up my dopamine. This means I am focused on accomplishing goals and getting the necessary tasks finished. If I have chocolate at night, it gets me wired and I am unable to fall asleep. Mastering your own body is key to supercharging your life.

I love making recipes like this because they are cool, smooth, sweet and creamy. It really stimulates my desire for sweets without causing unwanted or uncontrollable cravings.  I keep the berries out as they throw me out of ketosis, however, for many of you it may be what you need to get started with a recipe like this.

I love the combination of berries, coconut and chocolate. I think it is a match made in heaven. The antioxidants in berries match up favorably with those that are in chocolate and the medium-chain fats in the coconut are a great carrier and enhance the overall nutritional absorption of the dish.

I personally like to add in turmeric in almost anything I can due to its high powered anti-oxidant curcuminoids. A dash of black pepper enhances the absorption of the curcuminoids. Adding in a dash of pink salt will improve the flavor of the recipe and blunt any unwanted stevia aftertaste.

Choose the protein powder you enjoy most that is best suited for your body.  I love and recommend the Bone Broth Power Protein because it is rich in collagen peptides that help heal the gut and reduce inflammation in the body.  In addition, collagen protein supports the joints, skin, hair and nails.
