Detoxifying Green Drink
Yield 8-12 Ounces
Green Drink Ingredients:
- 1 Lemon
- 2 cucumbers
- 1/2 bunch of dandelion greens
- 1/2 stalk of cilantro
- 1/2 bunch of bok choy
- 2 (1 inch) pieces of ginger root
- 1 Stalk Lacinato kale
- 1/2 granny smith apple
Green Drink Instructions:
Step #1: Gather all the ingredients
Step #2: Cut everything up into small pieces as this will be easier on your juicer. Add things together in small proportion. So I might cut the lemon and apple into 8 chunks and add in 2 chunks of lemon, 2 chunks of apple, some cilantro, some cucumber, etc. With this recipe – I like to do about 4 loads. So I proportion everything to get as even an amount as possible of each thing into 4 loads.
Step #3: Add everything in slowly and let the juicer do its job. I personally use a simple Breville juicer and have good success with it. It is around $100 and the knock on it is that it doesn’t have great lasting power. If you are juicing daily, it should last you about a year. I like the Breville because it is stainless steel and not plastic. This minimizes toxic chemicals like phthalates and BPA.

This juice is super rich in chlorophyll due to the Lacinato kale, cilantro and dandelion. The chlorophyll content of a food is a major indicator of the health attributes of any given plant based food.
Chlorophyll rich foods have a very deep green and are extraordinarily useful in building new blood cells and purifying the body from cancer and radiation. Chlorophyll also assists in wound healing, intestinal regularity, detoxification, and deodorization of the body.
Great juicing staples include celery, cucumber, lemon/lime and granny smith apple as these are all very low in sugar and produce a lot of juice. The dark greens such as kale, cilantro and dandelion provide very little juice, but tons of chlorophyll. So the combination of hydrating, low sugar fruit and veggies are key.
