Keto Coconut Flour Gravy:
A good gravy can make a meal take on a whole new life of its own. I personally love gravy with meat and cauliflower mashed potatoes. Most gravy recipes are full of gluten containing thickeners and toxic trans-fats, preservatives and other chemical additives. This keto coconut flour gravy is clean and free of these bad ingredients!
We created this recipe so you could have a safe and tasty gravy recipe that is grain-free and full of anti-inflammatory ingredients. This traditional Thanksgiving staple can be used all year around and it is full of life giving nutrients.
Coconut Flour Gravy Ingredients:
- ¼ cup grass-fed butter
- 1 quart organic chicken or beef stock
- 4 medium to large onions
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1 sprig of thyme
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon pink salt
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Servings: 1 1/2 quarts
Coconut Flour Gravy Directions:
Step #1: Melt butter in a medium size saucepan. Add onions and cook until they soften and brown.
Step #2: Add garlic and mix to combine. Sprinkle with salt.
Step #3: Stir in coconut flour and continue stirring until it thickens and slightly browns.
Step #4: Add stock, turmeric and thyme.
Step #5: Simmer gently until sauce begins to thicken, 10 – 20 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step #6: Blend carefully in a blender until smooth or use an immersion blender.
Step #7: Add freshly ground pepper to taste.
